Say hello to Glove Dancing otherwise known as Gloving
Gloving is a competitive modern dance craze where two competitors take it in turns to dance off against each other with their hands. It originated at raves where the dancers would originally use glow sticks. It moved on with people using plain white gloves that reflected the blue lights common on the dance floor of electronic music events and then finally someone put colored LED lights into the fingertips of those gloves.
One of the earliest videos showing people dancign with these gloves was uploaded to youtube in 2006.
It was filmed at a rave in Southern California and shows a glove dancing legend called Hermes giving a performance.
The dance craze hit a major roadblock in 2010 when a 15 year old girl died at a rave due to complications related with MDMA (Ecstasy / E). This caused a huge crackdown on Electronic Dance Events and in response these events decided to ban things that could have been associated with Drugs, unfortunately for gloving LED tipped gloves was one of the things banned.
Although it may be associated with drugs, the major cause of concern was the people sitting down whilst these events went on due to the fire risk problem.
In 2011 a fan of the dance called Brian Lim formed EmazingLights to sell gloving products and he helped form the International Gloving Championship that showcases gloving as a sport around the world.
The electronic gloves have started to get quite advance, with newer ones becoming programmable through bluetooth and your mobile phone.

Will we see this sport enter the Olympics? I doubt we will any time soon though.
